Security services company expands into specialized gaming market through acquisition of Surveillance Systems Incorporated.
Convergint has entered the gaming sector by acquiring Surveillance Systems Incorporated (SSI), a company specializing in surveillance and integrated security solutions for gaming environments. The deal marks a new sector for Convergint as it expands its security and systems integration operations across the gaming market.
Announced on September 8, 2026, the acquisition gives Convergint access to SSI’s established gaming security expertise. SSI has worked with gaming operators for over two decades and has developed experience in surveillance systems and sector-specific security requirements. The financial terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.
Combining gaming expertise with global operations.
The transaction brings together SSI’s specialized knowledge of gaming environments and Convergint’s wider systems integration capabilities. According to the companies, the combination is intended to expand the range of services available to gaming customers while giving SSI customers access to Convergint’s broader service organization and international operations.
For Convergint, the acquisition also reflects a wider approach of using targeted acquisitions to enter new industries and add specialized expertise to its existing business.
Focus on a regulated industry.
Security requirements in gaming environments can be particularly demanding because operators must comply with extensive regulatory standards while protecting customers, employees, financial assets and gaming operations.
The acquisition therefore represents more than an expansion into a new customer segment. It gives Convergint access to a specialized area where industry knowledge and regulatory familiarity can play an important role in delivering security systems. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Convergint provides security, fire and life safety technology services. The company operates from more than 200 locations worldwide and has more than 11,000 employees, according to the announcement. Its existing customer base spans sectors including critical infrastructure, data centres, financial services, healthcare and the public sector.
The acquisition of SSI adds gaming to that portfolio and gives Convergint a platform to pursue opportunities in the sector, particularly across North America and potentially other international markets.
